Fitness and Mobility
This tour is designed for travellers who enjoy active holidays, nature experiences and spending time outdoors.
Fitness Level: Participants should have a moderate level of fitness. Daily walks and hikes generally range from 3 km to 12 km, often over uneven terrain and in varying weather conditions.
Mobility: There is no maximum age restriction; however, guests should be comfortable with hiking, swimming and sleeping in traditional Australian swags. As swags are positioned on the ground, travellers must be able to get up and down comfortably without assistance.
Medical Conditions: Anyone with mobility limitations or existing medical conditions should consult their doctor before travelling and notify our customer service team before departure so appropriate assistance can be arranged where possible.
Fit for Travel Declaration: All guests are required to complete online check-in, including a mandatory Fit for Travel Declaration, at least 24 hours before departure. This confirms that you are medically fit to participate in the tour.
Accommodation and Camping
This is a participatory camping adventure, meaning everyone is encouraged to assist with simple daily camp duties such as preparing meals and packing equipment.
Accommodation is provided at a combination of national park campgrounds and holiday parks, which offer basic toilet and shower facilities.
Each night you’ll sleep in a traditional Australian swag—a durable canvas bedroll with an integrated mattress that can be used beneath the stars or inside shared weather shelters when required.
Sleeping Bags and Pillows: Guests should bring their own sleeping bag and pillow. Any retired or unused sleeping bags are donated to charity, giving them a second life, helping people experiencing homelessness.
Weather
Western Australia’s climate can vary significantly. Be prepared for both hot and cold temperatures, as well as exposure to the elements.
Should wet weather occur, shared group tents will be available for shelter.
If severe weather makes camping unsuitable, alternative accommodation may be arranged. Any additional accommodation costs will be shared equally between Untamed Escapes and participating travellers.
Itinerary Flexibility
Conditions throughout regional Western Australia can change quickly, particularly in remote areas.
For this reason, your guide may adjust the itinerary if necessary to ensure guest safety and provide the best possible experience. Any changes will be communicated to the group as soon as possible.
