FAQ

What’s the best time to visit the remote parts of Far North Queensland?

May to October is cooler and dry roads. Wet season (Nov–Apr) is lush but can have closures and mozzies.

Do I need a 4WD to get to the best spots?

Not for places like Mossman Gorge, but remote tracks like Bloomfield or CREB require a high-clearance 4WD.

Are there cultural experiences with Traditional Owners?

Yes. Tours with Kuku Yalanji guides share bush tucker, creation stories and a deep connection to Country.

Can I swim at the beaches around Cape Tribulation?

Only outside stinger season (Nov–May). Always check for croc warnings before swimming.

How many days do I need to see the reef and the rainforest?

At least three days—one for the reef, one for the Daintree and one for local towns or extra exploring.
