Melbourne

Your friendly Autopia tour guide will greet you in the city and help you on board.  Start the morning with an informative trip over Melbourne’s iconic West Gate Bridge, before the short drive over to the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula.

Point Lonsdale

Our first stop of the day is in the quaint seaside town of Point Lonsdale.  Enjoy some morning tea here as your guide teaches you about the treacherous RIP just off the coast and the number of ships that have been lost here.  After morning tea, enjoy a stroll along the shore line, witnessing where the Port Phillip Bay waters meet Bass Straight.  There are some lovely rock pools to discover and the Point Lonsdale lighthouse to view.  Learn about the infamous William Buckley, a prisoner who escaped from the Sorrento prison in 1803 becoming part of Australian folklore, with a visit to his cave found near the lighthouse.

Queenscliff

It’s then a very short drive to the historic town of Queenscliff, also known as the jewel of the Bellarine Peninsula.  Established in the 1850’s, Queenscliff township has retained some of the charms from this era as well as boasting a vibrant modern lifestyle.

Spectacular views over the township and Port Phillip Bay await you from the top of the Queenscliff Harbour Observation Tower. This 40m high viewing platform can be reached by lift, or stretch your legs using the stairs.  Then enjoy the local ambience with a walk through the new Queenscliff harbour area.

Oakdene Winery

It’s another short drive over to Oakdene Winery, where the group can indulge in some local wine tastings.  This winery is sure to amaze, beginning with the architecture.  Oakdene’s cellar door is inside an ‘Upside-Down House’, an A-frame house that looks to have been blown over onto its roof, with the wooden stumps exposed on top!  Join the experienced and welcoming staff at Oakdene, who will help you experience some of their wonderful local and award-winning wines.  Then peruse Oakdene Grove’s extra virgin olive oils, wander the fascinating and inspiring grounds or sit and enjoy a glass of vino.

Flying Brick Cider

Another very short drive over to the Flying Brick Cider Co, whose name comes from the local nickname for the yellow-tailed black cockatoo.  Try the naturally fermented ciders made from 100% fresh apples and mouth-watering pears.  Flying Brick Ciders are also free from added sugars, colours or concentrates and are made in the heart of the Bellarine Peninsula!

We’ll also enjoy a fabulous lunch here, where local produce and partnerships with the local community are a priority.  Take in the spectacular al fresco area and their creative spaces as you enjoy your meal, which you can pair with one of the Flying Brick Ciders or a carefully selected local wine.

Scotchman's Hill Winery

Scotchman’s Hill Winery was established in 1982, is the proud producer of exceptional cool maritime climate wines and is regarded among James Halliday’s Top 100 Australian Wineries.  Marvel at the old French, rustic style farmhouse building which houses the Scotchman’s Hill Winery cellar door.  Once inside, enjoy a distinctive quality wine tasting experience, with views over their impeccably cared for vineyards and the Port Phillip Bay region.  Compliment your tastings with a gourmet cheese platter, provided by the award-winning Pik Nik Cafe.

Mussel Supply

Fresh from the farm-gate to you – Welcome to the home of Fresh Portarlington Mussels and Angasi Oysters. Be amazed by the great variety of culinary delights.  Savour some perfectly cooked mussels direct from the farm gate Café, as you relax in the outdoor alfresco area. Learn how mussels are farmed on the Bellarine Peninsula whilst enjoying a beer or wine. Advance Mussel Supply has been an innovator in developing the latest growing techniques as well as constructing speciality equipment and boats. Advance Mussel Supply is a family owned and operated business and have been farming mussels in Port Phillip Bay for over 30 years, making them one of the earliest and leading mussel farmers in Port Phillip Bay. Learn about the many varied and tasty ways to eat mussels and choose to take some home for yourself if you like.  You can purchase fresh mussels by the kg or by the box – as well as oysters, prawns, scallops and abalone.
