Journey on an African adventure and then take a step back in time, all within 30 minutes of Melbourne! Explore Werribee Open Range Zoo Tour on board their safari bus, where you will witness animals, such as giraffes and zebras, grazing as though they were in the wild. Then continue through the Werribee Open Range Zoo Tour on foot to view and learn about more of their wonderful and mysterious creatures. Finish the day with a stop at Werribee Park, home to the Victoria State Garden and Werribee Mansion, where you can wander beautiful gardens, view gorgeous rose displays (seasonal) or view the Victorian Era lifestyle.

1/2 Day Werribee Open Range Zoo Tour and Safari
Feel as though you’ve journeyed to Africa with an open range safari at Werribee Zoo! You’ll be transported through a variety of landscapes where you can view giraffes, rhinoceros, zebras, bison and more, all from the comfort of the safari bus, with informative commentary from your safari guide along the way.
Learn more about the majestic lions from those that know them best with a keeper presentation. This is also your chance to learn about conservation efforts and how they are cared for!
View numerous other animals throughout the Werribee Open Range Zoo Tour along the Pula Walking Trail. This easy trail will have you wandering past meerkats, African wild dogs, hippopotamus and cheetahs where you can read informative displays on these amazing, and often endangered, animals.
View what life was like for the wealthy in the late 19th century with a visit to Werribee Mansion (own expense). Wander through the building’s ornate rooms and also view some of the original owner’s furniture items and clothing. You’ll be amazed by the brilliant Victorian Era architecture here.
Visit the stunning State Garden located in Werribee Park. From November until April, this is home to a collection of 5000 roses which have been creatively arranged and displayed in 4 designs. There are also a small lake and gardens to be enjoyed at any time of the year, which you are able to walk through at your leisure. Feel free to speak with the gardeners, who work hard to maintain the garden, along the way.

The Werribee Open Range Zoo Tour has a café and kiosk on site offering a range of options including soups, salads, steak sandwiches, pies, hot snacks and drinks.
There may be times when the zookeeper presentation is unavailable, due to animal husbandry or exhibit maintenance.
Entrance to Werribee Mansion is at own expense, from $7.30 per person.
Roses in the State Garden are in bloom from October to May and are at their most brilliant display from November to April.
